ESIC Hospital Ezhukone was commissioned in 1974 by then Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Labour, Vakkom Purushothaman in cheerankavu village; Ezhukone panchayat ( Kollam District ) in an area spreading over 16.5 acres of land.The location is blessed with scenic beauty with serene landscape full of vegetation.
ESIC Hospital Ezhukone is a 158 bedded multispeciality hospital imparting services to beneficiaries of 13 dispensaries located in Kollam district. Health services over here cater to the needs of 1.25 lakh I-P population, majority of whom are female employees working in cashew processing units. Our Hospital was taken over by ESI Corporation on 20th April 2010 with the vision of upgrading medical infrastructure and establishing a dental college in future.
A six bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was inaugurated on 21st July 2011 under Department of Medicine by Honourable Member of Parliament Mr.Kodikkunnil Suresh. We have a team of dedicated doctors from all specialities who are willing to serve the IPs (Insured Persons) round the clock providing them with high class medical facilities.
This
Hospital is constructed in three blocks (A,B & C blocks), kitchen block and staff
quarters
A – Block -( All O P Departments (except Dental OP) , MICU, Plaster Room, Laboratory, Casualty , ICTC, Ayurveda Unit, Hospital
Pharmacy ,Registration, Security point and Male Medical Ward)
B – Block -(Administration Block , X-ray, Dental OP, TMT & ECG Room, Physiotherapy, Medical Record on the
ground floor and the Operation theatre complex, Conference Hall, Yoga Center and Cytotechnology Room on the first floor)
C – Block -( male pre/post operative surgical wards , Gynaec and OBG ward,
Labour room , Neonatal Care room on ground floor , Paediatric
ward, Female surgical and Medical wards on the first floor.)
Kitchen block and quarters’ for the staff members, 1 Lakh litre capacity
over head water tank and a generator room also function in the campus.
This hospital was taken over by ESI Corporation on 20 /04 /2010 to run as
a Multi Specialty Hospital .
